The purpose of the Carlyle Full Gospel Church is to use every legitimate means to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ, teach the full gospel as it is contained in the Holy Scriptures, to uphold the Bible
as being the fully inspired Word of God and to serve our community, our province, our country and then the entireworld to the best of our ability.
Statement of Faith
INSPIRATION OF THE SCRIPTURE - We believe all scripture is given by
inspiration of God, and is therefore the infallible Word of God.( 2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:21)
THE GODHEAD - We believe there is one living, true, eternal and everlasting God, of infinite power, wisdom and goodness, the maker and preserver of all things, visible and invisible, and that this one true God has revealed Himself to this world as the Father, as the Son, and as the Holy Spirit. (John 14:7 - 11; Colossians 2:9; John 14:16-20; 2 John 5:20)
JESUS CHRIST THE SON OF GOD - We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God; Was manifest in the flesh, and took upon himself the form of man, that he might offer himself a sacrifice on the Cross of
Calvary for the sins of the world. We believe no man can come unto the Father but by and through the Lord Jesus Christ, and his shed blood. (John 1:18; 1 Timothy 3:16; John 14:6)
REPENTANCE - We believe in repentance to God, confession of ourselves as sinners, and that a definite turning is essential to salvation. (Acts 17:30; Acts 26:20; Acts 11:18; Acts 2:38-39; 1 Thessalonians 1:9 - 10)
JUDGEMENT ON ADAM AND THE WHOLE HUMAN FAMILY - We believe all mankind became sinners as a result of the fall of Adam. ((Romans 5:12; Romans 3;23;
1 Corinthians 15:22 - 23)
JUSTIFICATION AND REDEMPTION or A DEFINITION OF JUSTIFICATIONAND WHAT IT MEANS - We believe our redemption has been accomplished solely
by the shed blood of our Lord Jesus Christ, who was made sin for us, dying in our room andstead, rising again from the dead, ascending with His glorified body to the right hand of God, cleansed of all our sins and redeemed from the curse of the law. (John 3:3; Romans 5:1; Acts 13:29; 2 Corinthians 5:14-21; Galatians 2:16;
Galatians 3:13; 1 Peter 1:18 -19; Titus 2:14; Revelation 5:9)
ETERNAL LIFE - We believe every believer receives Eternal life as a free gift when
saved or born again, (Romans 6:23; John 5:24; John 10:28)
WATER BAPTISM - We believe in water baptism in the name of the Lord Jesus
Christ by immersion for believers, as taught in the scripture, and practiced by the early Apostolic church. (Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:38; Acts 8:16: Acts 10:48; Acts 19:5; Romans 6:3 - 6; Colossians 2:12; 1 Peter 3:21)
BAPTISM OF THE HOLY SPIRIT - We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit,
with the same Bible evidence of speaking in tongues as the Spirit gives utterance, as
a distinct, separate and subsequent experience to conversion, and is the enduement of spiritual power for Christian living and service. Also that it is the standard of normal Christian experience since Pentecost.(Mark 16:16-17; 1 Corinthians 14:21; Isaiah 28:11-12; Luke 24:49; John 14:15-17; Acts 1:8; Acts 2:4; Acts 10:44-46; Acts 19:1-6)
DIVINE HEALING - We believe Healing is in the Atonement and that God is still
the Healer of His People, and that the church should recognize and practice this
ministry, as directed by the Lord Himself and practiced by His Apostles. (Exodus
15:26; Isaiah 53:5; Mark 16:18; James 5:14-15; Hebrews 13:8)
THE LORD’S SUPPPER OR COMMUNION - We believe that all followers of Christ should partake of the communion of the Lord's Supper, in remembrance of His death until he comes again. (Luke 22:19-20; Matthew 26:29; 1 Corinthians 11:2 -34)
THE GIFTS OF THE SPIRIT - We believe in the nine gifts of the Spirit should be manifest in the church today, and that all Spirit filled believers should earnestly covet the best gifts for the edification and up building of the church. (1 Corinthians 12;8-11; 1 Corinthians 14:1)
THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT AND GODLY LIVING - We believe all Spirit-filled believers should produce the fruit of the Spirit in their lives and their walk should be according to Godliness and holy living, (Galatians 5:22-23; 1 John 2:6; 1 Peter 1:16; Titus 2:11-13; 2 Corinthians 7:1)
SECOND COMING OF CHRIST - we believe that the Lord Jesus Christ will return again, in person, first in the clouds of the air to catch away His won unto Himself, and later to return with all his saints to set up His millennium reign on the earth. (Acts 1:10-11;
REWARDS - We Believe the Bible clearly teaches a distinct judgment for believers
only, spoken of in scriptures as the Judgment Seat of Christ, where believer's works will be judged (not their sins) and rewards is in question, not salvation. (2 Corinthians 5:10;
1 Corinthians 3:11-15; Revelations 20:4-6)
THE FINAL JUDGMENT - We believe that their will be a great final judgment, as recorded in the Word of God. (Hebrews 9:27; Revelation 20:11 - 15) This is the udgment of the unjust where all the wicked are judged.

The Carlyle Full Gospel Churchhas its origins stemming out of revival tent meetings that occured through the 1910's and 1920's. The official opening ofthe church building was held October 29, 1929. By 1944 a house was purchased and moved onto the property for the pastor and his family.
By 1957, the Sunday School department had grown big enough to require classroom space. A full basement was added to the building along with a new entrance.
The church celebrated its 50th anniversay with a church homecoming. By 1984, the congregation need more space and an expansion project was started in 1985 and completed in 1987. A dedication was held in September of that year with ACOP moderator, Wes Schindle as a guest.
The church continues to move forward to see the kingdom of God expand in Carlyle and area after 93 years of ministry.
